Where to download: Only the FAT (playable on 68k and PPC computers) version of SmallMines has been posted to software archives. If you want one of the 68k-only or PPC-only versions (which take up less storage space), you may download it at my Web page.
Distribution: SmallMines 2.1 if freeware. Please make SmallMines your MineSweeper-style game of choice. If you like SmallMines, send me an email. You may freely distribute the SmallMines archive (which includes the application and all documents). Please don't distribute SmallMines without the accompanying documents. If you want to include SmallMines on a CD-ROM, please email me for permission (I'll probably agree, especially if you send me a complimentary copy of the CD-ROM).
Reporting bugs: This has not been tested on a wide variety of Macintosh computers. There may be incompatibilities or bugs. If you find a problem that isn't addressed in the "Known Bugs" file, please email me (see below) describing the problem, and I will do my best to fix the problem.
How to play: The object of the game is to reveal all tiles that don't have mines hidden underneath. If you reveal a tile that doesn't have a mine underneath, you'll find instead how many mines surround that particular tile in the minefield. If you think you know of a tile that has a mine underneath, you can hold down the control key, option key, or command key while clicking on that tile. This will plant a flag on that tile, to remind you where the mine is.
Clock: The clock, at the top, left corner, tells you how long it has taken you to win (or lose). Scores are not recorded (yet, that is).
Game assistant: This is the button at the top, center of the window. This tells you the status of the game (progressing, win, or lose), and you can click on it to start over.
Mine counter: This is at the top, right corner. This tells how many mines you haven't found.
